The Penn State Dickinson Law Review is not currently accepting submissions. The Penn State Law Review will open for submissions for Volume 132 in February of 2027.

For Authors

The Dickinson Law Review now invites submissions of articles, essay, and book reviews for Volume 131 starting in January of 2026!

Submission Guidelines: Articles

  • File Format. We ask that authors submit documents in Microsoft Word format.

  • Length. We encourage submissions of 15,000 to 30,000 words, including footnotes.

  • Article Format. Articles should be double-spaced and use footnotes, not endnotes.

  • Citations. Citations must conform to the 21st Edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.

  • Abstract. Please include a short abstract with your submission.

  • Curriculum Vitae. Submissions should contain the author’s curriculum vitae.

  • Essay Format. Essays should be double-spaced and use footnotes, not endnotes.

  • Abstract. Please include a short abstract with your submission.

  • Curriculum Vitae. Submissions should contain the author’s curriculum vitae.

  • File Format. We ask that authors submit documents in Microsoft Word format.

  • Length. We encourage submissions of 15,000 to 30,000 words, including footnotes, but require a minimum of 5,000 words.

  • Book Review Format. Book Reviews should be double-spaced and use footnotes, not endnotes.

  • Citations. Citations must conform to the 21st Edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.

  • Abstract. Please include a short abstract with your submission.

  • Curriculum Vitae. Submissions should contain the author’s curriculum vitae.

Expedite Requests

Please request expedited review via your author submissions account on Scholastica or via email at DickinsonLRev@psu.edu. Expedite requests should include the title of the manuscript, date by which a decision must be made, and the name of the journal from which you have received an offer of publication.

Withdrawing a Submission

If you decide to withdraw a submission, please do so via your author submissions account on Scholastica or via email at DickinsonLRev@psu.edu.
